Insurance & Reinsurance
Israeli insurance counsel, from the interpretation of cover to the resolution of contested claims.
We advise insurers and reinsurers on the legal issues arising when a loss is notified, a policy is called upon or liability is disputed. Our work connects the terms of the insurance contract with the factual investigation and the conduct of the underlying claim, giving clients a reasoned view of their obligations, available arguments and financial exposure.

Coverage grounded in the contract
Our analysis begins with the insuring clause, the identity of the insured and the risk for which cover was placed. We examine relevant definitions, exclusions, endorsements, conditions, limits and deductibles alongside the chronology of the loss and the information available to the parties. Where disclosure, notification or policy compliance is disputed, we assess the legal significance of the facts before reaching a coverage conclusion.
The relationship between liability and insurance
A finding against an insured does not, by itself, resolve every question under the policy. We distinguish the underlying cause of action from the contractual basis of indemnity, and consider the implications of overlapping policies, additional insured interests and the allocation of responsibility between participants. This separation informs both the coverage advice and the approach to defence, contribution and settlement.
Israeli matters with reinsurance implications
For overseas insurance clients, we explain the Israeli substantive and procedural issues that affect the claim, the evidence required and the decisions that need instructions. Where reinsurance interests are engaged, reporting identifies the underlying loss, the basis and development of the exposure, and the documents needed to assess the relevant contractual arrangements. Our advice remains tied to the governing wording and the scope of the engagement.
Advice that develops with the claim
Coverage and exposure are reviewed as witness accounts, expert opinions and court decisions become available. We set out the significance of new evidence, the remaining uncertainties and the practical alternatives, enabling clients to decide whether to defend, negotiate, seek further investigation or pursue recovery.
