Pro Bono
Access to justice and the responsible use of legal expertise in service of the community.
We recognise that financial and other barriers can prevent people from obtaining legal assistance. Our approach to pro bono is guided by the value of access to justice, the relevance of our experience to the matter and our ability to provide effective, responsible assistance.
Professional responsibility
We regard the legal profession as having a responsibility beyond the conduct of individual commercial engagements. Opportunities to apply legal knowledge for the benefit of the community deserve careful consideration, particularly where a person would otherwise face substantial difficulty in obtaining advice or representation.
Considering enquiries
Requests are considered individually, with regard to the nature of the matter, our practice areas, available capacity and professional obligations. An enquiry does not itself establish an attorney–client relationship or a commitment to act. Any engagement is subject to conflict checks and agreement on its scope. Enquiries may be directed to the firm’s office.
